Check your website details or risk a fine

A Nottingham law firm is warning companies they risk being fined unless they ensure that their websites and emails contain specific information now required under new regulations.

Andrew Kelly, of Anderson Solicitors, says the regulations are to comply with a European directive and came into force on January 1 this year.

“The information that firms have always had to put on hard copy documents is now required on electronic communications as well.”

“A company has to state its name, its place of registration and registration number, and the address of its registered office on its websites, business emails and electronic order forms.”

The regulations were introduced to incorporate the European First Company Law Amendment Directive, into UK law.
